Tomoson Review: JZ Brain 4-in-1 Pouch Laminator

One of my hobbies and passions includes Product Testing and Reviewing.  There are numerous companies and resources online that you can register to be a product tester.  One site that I have found that I believe to be one of the best out there in the cyber world is called Tomoson.  Tomoson is a bit different than the other product testing sites I use, however, the best part about Tomoson is the product opportunities.

They have very high-value products you can test and also offer monetary compensation in some cases.  Requirements can range from social media shares to blog posts to video reviews on YouTube.  You can even apply for paid opportunities!  The process is a little more difficult and time-consuming to get started and create your profile, but I feel it is absolutely worth your time!  You will be required to create a media kit which is really just a detailed profile about all your social media profiles, so be sure to have all your stats handy when you sign up.

I received another product from Tomoson to unbox and review called the JZ Brain 4-in-1 Pouch Laminator, so I am very excited to get it unboxed and laminating!  Tomoson is a great site for collaborating with Brands and Sellers to help test and/or promote their products.  It is one of my favorite product testing websites.  You have to setup your media kit on Tomoson which can take about an hour or so, but then it is very easy to start applying for campaigns.  You set your timeframe, fee (if applicable), and any other special requirements to do their requested post(s).  Not only can you score free products, but you can get PAID to post as well!  Now on to my review….

My first impression is that the box it came in is very heavy, so this must be a high-quality product if it weighs a lot.  My second impression was that it was not packed with a lot of padding, so I hoped it still worked!  Low and behold, the laminator itself was fine and the manufacturer packaging had protected it.  The laminator was held in the box by two heavy-duty styrofoam inserts formed exactly like the ends of the laminator.  So, it held it snugly and securely in place.

Upon opening the box you found the laminator wrapped in plastic, the instruction manual, and another plastic bag with numerous laminating pouches in different sizes.  It comes with five pouches of each size; 12 inches by 18 inches, 9 inches by 14.5 inches, 9 inches by 11.4 inches, and 3.5 inches by 5.3 inches!  I took everything out to review all the pieces are started to read the instructions which were simple enough but a little confusing.  Luckily, the laminator is pretty easy to use and figure out without the instructions!

The first step was to plug in the laminator and turn the button on the right-hand side to either hot or cold, as this laminator has both functions.  I switched it to hot and waited a few minutes for it to heat up.  There are two lights on the top right side of the laminator to indicate the laminator being on and when it is ready or pre-heated.  The “ready” light glows green when it is heated up, but beware the unit can get very hot to the touch once plugged in and heated!!

On to the laminating!!  The next step was to take the paper I wanted to laminate and put it into one of the laminating pouches that were included with the laminator.  For my project, I used a 9″ by 11.4″ pouch and then cut out the postcards.  You simply put the paper in the pouch like a sandwich and then there are no more instructions, so I winged the rest!  Though, it was not rocket science to figure out.  Once I stuck the pouch with paper into the slot on the laminator it did the rest.  The pouch slowing started moving through the laminator; like MAGIC!  Haha!  It was pretty fast to go through all the way, I would say it took about 30 seconds total.  It came out on the other side and voila!

It then took me a few minutes to figure out how to use the paper cutter because I didn’t read ALL the directions.  To my surprise, there was an ENTIRE section on how to use the paper cutter.  Once I figured out how to unlock it and lift the arm, away I went cutting out my newly laminated promo cards.  I also didn’t realize right away that the corner rounder was an attachment stored on the back of the laminator, so don’t make my same mistake.  For some reason, I thought it was a switch and the machine cut the corners round as it came out of the machine.  This is NOT the case.  It is like a paper punch that you use to round the corners yourself.

Recap, the JZ Brain 4-in-1 Pouch Laminator can laminate just about any document, photo, paper, or other flat item with heat and cold, cut out your laminated project with the included, very sharp, paper cutter, as well as, seal your lamination and protect you from sharp edges with the corner rounder paper punch attachment!  I give this product 5 STARS and 2 THUMBS UP!  It is high-quality, heavy duty, super easy to use (even when you don’t read all the directions), and works great for any project!
